Yo ho, yo ho, a Pirates League for me!

The Pirates League, located in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom® transforms guests of all ages from your average park guest into a true pirate!

Located, appropriately, near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction
My little man, Henry, was eager to become a pirate!  We checked-in, chose which face package, and waited a few minutes for our names to be called.
You are given the option to purchase a full-pirate costume, or just a shirt, or nothing at all.  We opted to purchase a shirt.  They escorted us to a small dressing room.
Henry soon started the experience by receiving his pirate name.  He had to spin the wheel, items came out of the box and based on this…
A book was used to assign his name.  Henry became Roger Bloodshot.
We were escorted into the main lair, where the transformations were taking place.  We waited here for a bit, but were eventually called to start!
First a tattoo, the guest can choose for it to go on the hand or arm.
A very excited boy, ready to become a pirate!
Taking a pirate oath
After the oath, you are escorted to a treasure room for a pirate portrait  and I’ve been sworn to secrecy on the rest of what happens in the treasure room, so…I guess you’ll just have to experience it for yourself!
In all, we spent around $65 and received the t-shirt, the bandana, tattoo, earring, sword, sash, eye patch, face paint, pirate bag with doubloons, pirate necklace, and a portrait (which is not included in the make-over and can be added to your PhotoPass or PhotoPass+ account).  And of course, countless memories!  We all throughly enjoyed this experience!
Disney schedules 30 minutes for the Pirate’s League, but unless you are one of the first appointments of the day, I would recommend budgeting an hour into your plans, just in case you have to wait for a bit like we did.
There is a Mermaid package for young girls that includes shimmering make-up, nails and a hair pin.  There is also an Empress package that is much like the more boy-themed packages, but is targeted for girls. This is a fantastic option for young girls if the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is booked up, and of course any guest can get whatever look they desire!  We saw a few girls with the same face paint my son chose.

The Pirates League is is open to guests ages 3 and up.  We saw many adults being made over!!  If you have booked your Walt Disney World vacation with me and you’d like to add this on, just let me know and I’m happy to make the appointment for you.  Or you can call 407-WDW-CREW to do it on your own.
